Why an online dice roller?

Dice notation like “2d6” is the shorthand of every tabletop gamer: the number before the “d” is how many dice you roll, and the number after it is how many sides each die has. So “2d6” means roll two six-sided dice, and “1d20+3” means roll one twenty-sided die and add 3 to the result.

This roller covers the whole family — d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, and d100 — with up to 20 dice at once and a modifier field, so it handles attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws just as well as picking a random student in class, breaking a tie, or settling what to order for dinner.
