Image to Base64 Converter
Turn any image into a Base64 string or a ready-to-paste data URI — encoded on your device, never uploaded.
Private by design: this tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored.

PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, SVG — any image your browser can open
How to use it
Choose an image. Any format your browser opens — PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, SVG and more.
Read the two outputs. The data URI for HTML/CSS, the raw Base64 for code and APIs; the label shows sizes before and after encoding.
Copy and paste. Drop the string where you need it — no file to host, nothing uploaded.
One file instead of two
Embedding small images as data URIs removes a whole class of annoyances: no separate file to upload, no broken link when a folder moves, no extra request slowing a page. It is the standard trick behind self-contained HTML emails, embedded report logos, offline demos and icon sprites in a single stylesheet. The trade-off is size — Base64 costs about 33% more bytes than the binary — which is why this tool shows you both sizes up front, so the decision is yours and informed.
